Siemens was the pioneer in drugs-of-abuse (DAT) testing, beginning in 1972 with the Syva FRAT (Free Radical Assay Technique) immunoassay test used to detect opioid use in veterans returning from the Vietnam conflict. Since then, we have continued to develop, refine, and support an extensive menu of reliably accurate DAT immunoassays. Our Viva family of dedicated drug-testing analyzers are designed specifically for easy, convenient use in both clinical and nonclinical settings, such as drug courts and workplaces, and we also offer a wide range of drug-testing applications that can easily be integrated into many general chemistry analyzer platforms. We remain committed to finding solutions for drug abuse and addiction through our support of education, tools for basic research, diagnosis, identification, and treatment.
